This class introduces students to basic concepts in drawing & painting while creating opportunities to connect with others in the outdoors.
Sketch Odyssey East Bay at Preservation Park is a 2-hour workshop that introduces students to essential watercolor techniques through the practice of sketching and painting on-site at the historic Preservation Park. Participants will meet at the FLAX Oakland store for a short materials and sketching talk with your instructor, then proceed outside to the historic park, just two blocks from the store. You'll become familiar with brush, ink and watercolor sketching techniques, as well as learn about color mixing and framing a subject in perspective. As you practice concepts introduced, you'll build confidence to continue sketching and painting on your own!
A materials kit including a watercolor set, watercolor paper, brushes and drawing tools is included in the workshop fee.
